Praetutiorum
Téramo is a historic Italian city of about 55,000 inhabitants, capital of the homonymous province in the Abruzzo region. It sits between the Adriatic Sea and the imposing Gran Sasso massif.
Its Roman origin dates back to 268 BC, when the Roman Republic conquered the ancient settlement of Pretut from the Italic tribe known as the Praetutii. The Romans renamed the city Interamnia Praetutiorum — "the city of the Praetutii between the rivers".

In the shadow of the Gran Sasso
The highest mountain massif in the Apennines. Corno Grande reaches 2,912 m. The peak is clearly visible from the city; the national park sits 40–45 minutes southwest. To the east, half-an-hour drive away, the Adriatic coast.

By Train
Teramo Station is a regional terminus. Trains to Giulianova (~25 min) and Pescara (~1h20). For Rome transfer at Pescara — total ~5.5h.
By Bus
From Piazza San Francesco. Gaspari to Rome Fiumicino (~3.5h). FlixBus and TUA to Roma Tiburtina (2h05).
By Car
A24 Autostrada dei Parchi terminates in Teramo (Rome via L'Aquila). A14 Adriatica sits ~25 km east.
By Air
Pescara PSR — 50–60 min.
